Happy valentine's day to my bestest and longest friend, Jack. Jack is a Shih Tzu, small and cute. He sometimes come across as grumpy but he's really a very affectionate and loving doggy. He's very fussy with his food, he only likes the best meats like Sirloin or Fillet steaks. He likes to roll in the mud and sometimes covers his whole body in it, including his face which makes us laugh. His favourite place is cuddling on the settee with his mummy or daddy. He loves to lie between their legs where it is nice and warm.I am Maisie, a Tibetan terrier dog. I have known Jack for 14 years. I am one year younger than Jack and I like to joke about it. We used to play fight and chase each other when we were younger but now we prefer a slow walk and a sleep and a cuddle on our return. We are the bestest of doggy friends and we always get excited when we see each other. He is a really brave little doggy and has been known to dive from great heights off boats into the river.
Change poem background
To Jack, my dearest, longest friend,
A tiny hero 'til the end.
On Valentine's, I send my cheer
For fourteen years you've been so near.
Oh Shih Tzu brave, with heart so grand,
In muddy fields, you've taken stand.
With Sirloin dreams and Fillet feasts,
You're fussy with your royal feasts.
As grumpy as you seem to be,
Your love's as deep as any sea.
Between the legs, where warmth is sweet,
You find your home, your perfect seat.
I Maisie, proud Tibetan lass,
Remember how the years did pass.
From playful chases in our youth
To walks and cuddles, that's the truth.
In boats you launched with fearless might,
A diving dog, a wondrous sight.
So here's to you, on this fine day,
My closest friend in every way.
Together still, let’s take the floor,
Best friends, we'll be forevermore.
