In Sardis' glow where laughter weaves,
My husband finds his nightly leaves,
Amidst the clink of glasses high,
Under the vibrant, velvet sky.
The chandelier casts shadows long,
Where he belongs, amongst the throng,
Yet as the music sways his soul,
I wonder where I lost control.
Though merriment may light his eyes,
It's in the still, where my heart sighs,
For in the echoes’ soft embrace,
I search for him in empty space.
At Sardis’ call, he finds his cheer,
Yet I remain, a wishful tear.
May he return with stories told,
To warm our night, when stars unfold.
