Want to say thank you to my man for being an amazing stepdad to our kids. He stepped up and has shown them what a real man is. We met when were 12 in middle school and became best friends. We use to go mudding on our bikes before we had cars, adventures in the avacado groves and streets of Homestead,FL. In highschool we shared a kiss and then became high school sweethearts. We shared many firsts together. As we grew older we went out separate ways but always stayed in touch. He went into the military and fought for our country while I stayed in our hometown and went to school. We both met other people and got married. I would visit him and his wife and we remained best buds. I knew he would always be there as I was for him. As life went on and he was separating from his wife, I drove immediately to be by his side. Years later, I went through the same but had moved to North Florida. I was a single mom with 3 little ones. From a happy birthday message I sent him, our calls began again and next thing I knew he left everything and came up here. I knew he was my best friend and we were always there for each but never truly thought he would want to be with me with 3 kids and not much to offer or so I thought. He showed up in every way possible in every shape and every form. He taught our kids how to roller skate and bowl. Afternoon practice on football and soccer fields to games on Saturdays, he was there for it all. Every school event from awards to recitals, he was in the audience cheering for his kids so proud. The boys had guys days where they would go fish or work on stuff. The boys learned how to shoot guns, work with tools, build a fire and more. They even had a night when the boys were 7 and 10 when they said they wanted to camp so he set up and entire area in the yard with tents and a fire. No phones just us and the kids. They learned tools and do so much more from him. He also made sure to have daddy/ daughter dates. He was her first date ,where our daughter got dressed up at 4 or 5 with a pretty flower dress and little heel shoes and a purse, and he got dressed up and even had on a tie. He knocked on the door like a gentleman and came with a corsage. I cherish those memories as do our kids.our boys are men because of him and our daughter is independent because Daddy taught her how to do things but more importantly she knows her self worth and how a woman should be treated by a man. Yes , their daddy set the bar high and I absolutely love it. They know that if they ever need anything he is there. I have been sad that their so called father or sperm donor as I call him is barely there if that. It's always about him and he has missed so much. Because of my guy, we have a real home and family. We have had so many fun, family adventures and days and nights with even just him and I. The kids and I would of never had any of the things we have if it wasn't for him. He made so many dreams come true. From swimmy with the dolphins, to svorking with sea turtles and manatees in the Atlantic and the Gulf. Days on the boat or in a tube. He goes above and beyond every trip we take and the kids get to see so much. Every Disney park, to every Universal park, Busch Gardens, Sea World to so many water parks. Going down rivers in Florida and in the mountains. Trips to Georgia,South Carolina,North Carolina and Tennessee to the Florida Keys. We have made beautiful memories all because of him. My kids aren't upset about the man who left and never shows up cuz they have a real dad who is always there. I want him to know how much he means to us and how I'm so thankful he stepped up and became a step dad but in reality he's not a step parent he's their dad. He's wiped tears, snot noses and their litny butts on the potty. He was there always.

In the avocado groves, our roots took hold,
Two kids on bikes, facing adventures bold.
From Homestead's streets to distant lands apart,
A friendship formed, a bond within the heart.

Through time and trial, life led us our own ways,
Yet destiny embraced us in its gaze.
You wore the military’s brave disguise,
While I sought wisdom 'neath familiar skies.

Then came a day when both our worlds unspun,
A birthday note rekindled friendship's sun.
You left it all, to find us here anew,
Three little ones and me, their mom, I knew.

You taught them strength on fields of green and gold,
And with life’s lessons, narratives unfold.
From camping nights to skates upon the floor,
Your love embraced them, they needed no more.

Our daughter's first date you graciously became,
With corsage in hand, framing your sweet acclaim.
Her worth was set high by you, her devoted guide,
Her heart's first measure by which she'll abide.

The boys found in you a craftsman and sage,
Guiding them skillfully, through life’s open page.
Each fish caught, fire built, lesson learned with care,
In awe, they knew that Daddy was always there.

A myriad journeys, dreamt yet unforeseen,
Dolphins and turtles, every enchanted scene.
From mountains' embrace to the Florida Keys,
You gave us a world of treasured memories.

Because of you, my love, our home's complete,
In a family bound by love, life's rhythm beats.
Thank you, oh thank you, words scarcely convey,
For stepping up and guiding us each day.

Not a step-parent, but their Dad so true,
With gratitude, we cherish you anew.
In every cheer, each tear you've wiped away,
Our lives, transformed, in your embrace we stay.
