You unknowingly taught me how to sew and emphasized the significance of delivering a proper handshake, which you insisted was extremely important, even for a young lady like myself. There are countless memories I will cherish, such as your care during and after my major surgery, and the tradition of receiving chocolates and a heartfelt card every Valentine's Day, delivered to my dresser without fail. You were not easily angered and served as a calm presence in our family. You instilled in me the values of being domestic, industrious, and self-sufficient, as you were capable of doing everything with great care. Our trips to the Eastern Shore to visit family were a highlight of my childhood, knowing I had another family that was just as sweet, peaceful, and caring as you.
