Change poem background
In Walker Dunbar's shadow I was born,
In '45, with Bill and Betty near,
On Lansdown Road, where laughter's softly worn,
By Clifton Downs, the zoo's call ever clear.
At Christchurch choir, my voice first took its flight,
The head chorister, young dreams taking wing,
With friends at Christchurch school, bonds held tight,
Passed '11 plus,' let Bedminster sing.
For Fry’s sweet task, I left curt class behind,
Yet truancy painted days in rebel's plight,
A century on pitch, in cricket fined,
The Silhouettes' drumbeats met migraine's fight.
Through joys and trials, Mo by my side to stand,
Grandchildren's laughter, life's memoirs so grand.
