**Carrying My Own Umbrella**
In streets where jeepneys rumble on,
And children play till day is gone,
I walk beneath a sky of gray
Embracing storms along my way.
Adobo scent from homes arise,
Each pot reflects our shared goodbyes,
In bamboo sheds I learned to stand,
Umbrella clasped in my own hand.
From tales of rice fields, sweat and toil,
I draw the courage to uncoil
The fears that brew in whispered night,
One step alone, to find my light.
Beneath the sampaguita's bloom,
I face the shadows, pierce the gloom,
The rain may fall, yet undeterred,
I wield the strength in every word.
For in this land where hearts are true,
I've found my way and broke through blue,
With courage born from stories told,
I carry my own umbrella bold.
