Change poem background
In memory’s clasp, I hold you tight,
Lochlan, a name whispered to the night.
The laughter echoes through the years,
In moments stitched with joy and tears.
Oh, the day your laughter turned surprise,
A nappy change met my startled eyes.
The cheeky gift you left in play,
A messy touch with a loving sway.
We laughed until the echoes rang,
Bathing suit drenched where your joy sprang.
I cherished then, that simple glee,
Knowing someday it’s what I’d need.
Now when I gaze upon the stars,
I see you there, racing your cars.
Show me your biggest, brightest beam,
As I wish for more time in this waking dream.
Though paths diverge, I hold you near,
In whispered winds, your laughter here.
Loved and missed, in every way,
A part of my heart, every single day.
