Change poem background
In the chill of a December's vow,
A facility once bustling, now bows,
Promised checks, they faltered, delayed,
In echoes of wheels and machines decayed.
Layoffs tumble like autumn leaves,
Management lost in tangled weaves,
Plans spun on turbulent gusts of air,
Promises broken, a weight hard to bear.
They pledged renewal, local dreams,
Yet strangers arrived in foreign streams,
The heart of a town now distant and cold,
As livelihoods slip through fingers' hold.
Each day the floundering deepens its claw,
A battle with fate, a thankless war,
If this structure crumbles, dust to flame,
The community bears the agony's name.
Hope flickers in whispers of wind,
May they heed the lessons of where they've sinned,
For in unity, the strength anew,
To rise from shadows, and see it through.
