Little Sammy my little dash hound who has sadly passed away
Change poem background
In fields of amber, grasses sway,
Where little paws once danced in play,
Dear Sammy's heart, now still and warm,
Has left this world, beyond the storm.
His wagging tail, a joyful kite,
Through sunlit morn and moonlit night,
Yet now in dreams, his shadow bleeds,
In bittersweet remembered deeds.
O gentle soul, who brought such light,
Who nudged away the darkest night,
In memories, you walk anew,
My little friend, my heart's tattoo.
Though silence wraps this empty room,
Your spirit blooms in every bloom,
Till we unite, on fields high-spanned,
I'll hold you close, in every strand.
