Change poem background
In twelve long years, we've shared our tears,
Through love's embrace and tangled fears.
You held my hand when storms would rise,
But now I see the bottle's guise.
Your words once sweet, now sharp and cold,
With every swig, your love grows old.
You say you'd rather leave, confess,
That I'm your misery, your stress.
Yet still, I strive with broken heart,
To mend the cracks, to do my part.
I've fought my demons, tried to heal,
But your cruel words, they're all too real.
You claim the bottle's not to blame,
That distant love, you still proclaim.
But when the liquor flows, I know,
The man I love seems far to go.
I'm grieving what we used to be,
A love that's faded, lost at sea.
In pain, in hope, I aim to fight,
For us to find a way to light.
For you deserve a life anew,
With joy and love, a future true.
I hope to see the man you were,
And build a world, just him and her.
