Still dealing with PTSD from being raped by a close friend in ninth grade
Change poem background
In shadows deep where silence weeps,
A wound still breathes though time has passed,
The ninth grade halls where laughter sleeps,
A trust once given, lost and cast.
A friend who wore a mask of light,
Now haunts the dreams, a ghostly shade,
In daylight's warmth and tranquil night,
The scars remain, though edges fade.
With whispered winds and gentle rain,
The heart seeks peace, a slow reprieve,
Yet echoes of an olden pain,
In quiet moments, softly grieve.
Through strength unyielding, courage gleams,
The soul learns gentle ways to mend,
For though the past has shattered dreams,
The spirit rises, whole to send.
