Ahriman rose, summoning the dark companions, and his armies gathered. There had been enough waiting, and in his mind, the time had come to kill the light—the time to kill Keyumars.Ahriman shouted, “I will plunge the world into dark night!”He commanded the demons, “You must destroy the humans so the world will be shrouded in darkness, and you will rule over all the earth!”The roar of the demons echoed through the sky. They gripped huge boulders to their chests, howling loudly. They rose, took flight, and followed Ahriman toward the humans.Ahriman advanced, roaring, bringing the darkness with him, and the world grew darker and darker.Seeing the onslaught of darkness and its vast army, the humans fled deep into the caves. They cried out in terror, calling for Keyumars.Darkness was swallowing the world—no sun was visible, no trace of light remained. With every step Ahriman took, flowers and plants withered, and life froze.Ahriman laughed loudly. The cries for help grew louder as Keyumars arrived, riding Zarrineh, the magical bull.Keyumars looked into the darkness. His eyes shone like twin rubies, piercing through the gloom. He let out a mighty roar. Lions came. Tigers came. Panthers came. Rabbits, squirrels, and martens came too. Birds and humans arrived as well. All gathered around Keyumars.Keyumars said, “The demons try to frighten us with their roars and darken the world, but now they will hear our roar!”Suddenly, the lions, tigers, and panthers all roared. The humans shouted. Sparrows chirped. The storm howled. The wind wailed. The earth and sky filled with roars, cries, chirps, howls, and wails.Birds in the sky, humans and animals on the ground, fought the demons. Keyumars rode Zarrineh, wielding a great mace, striking down demon after demon as he advanced. The demons feared his blazing eyes and fled into the depths of darkness.Every demon that fell to the ground turned to fire, then smoke, and rose into the sky.Ahriman screamed, but his voice was lost in the roar of the forces of light.Defeated and terrified, Ahriman fled into the heart of darkness. Night and blackness receded from the mountains, plains, and deserts. The sun shattered the darkness and emerged.Light returned to the world. The world was bathed in brightness.

In times when shadows dared to rise,
Ahriman woke beneath the skies,
With dark companions, fierce and bold,
His armies gathered, hearts grown cold.
"No more delay!" he cried, enraged,
"The light shall die, the stage is staged!
We'll plunge the world in endless night,
And shroud it from the sun's sweet light."
Demons roared, the earth did quake,
With boulders gripped that none could break,
Upon dark wings, they soared on high,
To chase the humans till they die.
Among the caves, where echoes cried,
The humans prayed as hope had died,
But then came Keyumars' might,
With eyes that pierced the endless night.
Upon Zarrineh, fierce and strong,
He led the earth's united throng,
From lion's roar to sparrow's song,
They stood to right the demon's wrong.
A clash of titans, bright and bold,
The storm unleashed, chaos controlled,
Keyumars' mace fell with a crack,
As demons cowered, and light fought back.
The sky ignited with each fallen foe,
A smokey dance where fires glow,
Ahriman's screams lost to the din,
Of courage deep, and will to win.
In flight, the darkness ebbed away,
Defeated by the break of day.
The mountains, plains, and deserts bright,
Basked once more in morning's light.
For in the heart where shadows loom,
Light's triumph banishes the gloom,
The sun ascends, a noble crest,
And peace returns to hearts at rest.
