college turkeys, roosting, night, emotional support, frightening
Change poem background
Under the campus moon's bright gaze,
Where shadows stretch in haunting ways,
A turkey roosts in quiet might,
Perched against the chill of night.
Feathers whisper in the breeze,
Murmurs of a world at ease,
But in those eyes, a secret gleams,
Echoes of unsettling dreams.
Yet students pass with hurried stride,
Seeking comfort, hearts open wide,
In quiet clucks and gentle wings,
They find the strength that kindness brings.
Amid the dark, a figure odd,
An avian friend—a feathered god.
Both fright and solace blend and loop—
A talisman of their hopeful troupe.
In turkeys bold, the night-borne grace,
Each striding soul finds their own place.
