A POEM IN YIDDISH ALL RHYMING WITH געפילט ABOUT THE LOVE FOR MY STUDENT THAT'S OUT SICK
Change poem background
In a classroom where warmth is gently instilled,
Lies a bond that's as strong as a soul unfulfilled.
My student, who's absent, the day unrefilled,
Leaves a void in this heart with a love that won't chill.
Though the lessons today in my heart are distilled,
It's the care for their presence my spirit has willed.
For your smile and your laughter, my dreams are instilled,
I await your return, with affection unspilled.
