Change poem background
In the shadow of Everest, John finds his stride,
Seventy-five years of life, with mountains as guide.
Nepal's whispers call him back each year,
To trek where the air is thin, but the spirit clear.
Mentor on courts where basketball dreams ignite,
Young souls taking flight beneath his guiding light.
Watched them grow, hands that once threw a ball,
Now raising families, he’s seen them all.
From Raptors' roar, whether in seats or at home,
To the Georgian Bay's serene, where the fox and waves roam.
Where treasure hunts turned to quiet nights by the fire,
A life enriched by the passions and warmth it inspires.
Evenings now calm, under a starry array,
John shares laughter with friends before calling it a day.
In the peace of the bay, under skies wide and grand,
John finds life’s rhythm, like grain falling through hand.
